We will have a satellite phone on board the board, with a voice mail backup. So you and your loved ones will be able to call any time. The voice mail is a little touchy, so if you get only silence, please try again.

Bob says, another way for people to contact us while at Sea is via VHF
radio. Especially while we are in or near Maine. Call Camden Marine Operator
207-236-3605. Tell them you want to place a call to the yacht Alamar, call
numbers W(hiskey) Y(ankee) 4896. The call no. as written is WY4896. what you
actually say to the operator is Whiskey Yankee 4896. If we are out of range
of Camden Marine, you could try asking them for a marine operator closer to
where we are then supposed to be. In case of emergency, the coast guard,
particularly the Canadian coast guard is most helpful and will not stand on
ceremony to be helpful. We are putting a lot of faith in the new sat phone,
hoping that it will not go belly-uyp before this fall. We will be in on many
evenings, not always within phone reach, but often so. I expect contact will
be continuous in a spotty sort of way. bob
